Manipulation score
CleanCompleted Oct 10, 2026 · 104 reviews flagged
How this score works
The score estimates how strongly this place's review record matches known manipulation patterns, from 0 (no signs) to 100. Verdicts: Clean below 40, Suspicious from 40, Likely Manipulated from 70; Review Drive when the flags are mostly staff asking customers for named reviews. It rises with the share of reviews flagged and how suspicious each one is.
- Burst
- — an abnormal spike of five-star reviews in a single day compared to the place's usual pace.
- Low activity account
- — the reviewer has almost no other reviews, photos, or Local Guide history; throwaway accounts look like this.
- Duplicate text
- — the wording is nearly identical to another review of the same place.
Verdicts are statistical estimates based on public review patterns, not accusations. Full methodology, signal definitions and known limits →

Great food and incredibly friendly service! The black seafood paella was delicious. We found it spontaneously; it's the only place we hadn't read about on blogs before, and it's probably the best in Malaga 🙂

We would highly recommend El Gastronauta, we loved it so much that we went back for a second time in 3 days. We loved the aubergine, jam and goat cheese starter and the mixed paella. The staff were so attentive and friendly.

First, I arrived and they made me wait for my reservation. The food was just okay; the chicken toast was tasty, but the bread was burnt. What really made me give it such a bad rating was the overcooked tuna tartare. I mentioned it to the w...

We had a reservation for 3:00 PM, but when we arrived at 2:55 PM, they told us we'd have to wait a while because all the tables were occupied. At 3:15 PM, they finally let us in at two separate tables, which we had to push together ourselve...

Be careful! The menu lists the price of paellas, for example, €14, but this price is actually per person with a minimum of two people. I got caught out and had to pay double. This wasn't clearly stated on the menu, so tourists can easily be...

Super disappointed tbh, as they served us the olives while waiting for the food there was a nibbled on olive pit on the plate (none of us ate an olive) when pointed out to the waitress she just took the plate and looked at us annoyed then j...

I was disappointed by the pricing. The menu clearly states that the paella costs €15 per person, so as a solo customer I expected to pay €15. However, I was charged €30 instead. There was no clear indication on the menu that a minimum of tw...

The food was excessively strong with a lot of garlic. They only had one dessert option. The decor wasn't very nice.

It's no wonder this restaurant has been awarded the title of best paella in Málaga by TripAdvisor and another certification for the past five years. The prices are fair for the portion size, and it's absolutely worth the wait. Reservations are recommended as it's a small restaurant with limited seat...

My favorite paella place in Malaga!! I recommend ordering the squid ink paella; it can be a bit salty, so if you ask them to add just a little salt, it should be perfect for Korean palates. Personally, I also love the chicken croquettes and gambas here.
