Manipulation score
CleanCompleted Jul 15, 2026 · 41 reviews flagged
How this score works
The score estimates how strongly this place's review record matches known manipulation patterns, from 0 (no signs) to 100. Verdicts: Clean below 40, Suspicious from 40, Likely Manipulated from 70; Review Drive when the flags are mostly staff asking customers for named reviews. It rises with the share of reviews flagged and how suspicious each one is.
- Burst
- — an abnormal spike of five-star reviews in a single day compared to the place's usual pace.
- Low activity account
- — the reviewer has almost no other reviews, photos, or Local Guide history; throwaway accounts look like this.
- Duplicate text
- — the wording is nearly identical to another review of the same place.
Verdicts are statistical estimates based on public review patterns, not accusations. Full methodology, signal definitions and known limits →

My favorite ramen in NYC! In addition to the chill vibe, their ramen broth is unmatched. Perfect for a solo date!

Was in town and staying at a hotel close by and had heard about this place many times. The resturant keeps to its philosophy of uninterrupted solo dining by only offering single booths regardless of group size. The bowl did not disappoint....

The food is delicious, is a nice place to go alone I never feel uncomfortable here. The service is super fast and good. You don't tip here

Excellent Tonkotsu ramen like eating in Japan. Love that we can customize the ingredients like firmness of noodle, spiciness, amount of garlic. Free drinking water. What I like the most is no tipping establishment which is the good practice...

Reviewers report having to wait in long lines outside before getting seated.

BEST ramen ever! I tried it in one of the Ichiran locations in Tokyo, and now in NY… same amazing flavor and richness! Had to wait in line for 45 minutes, but totally worth it!

Highly recommend...if only for the experience...eat like you would in Japan! Of the two NYC locations, this location is smaller than one in Times Square (less seating, longer wait time). They only serve Ramen (made fresh daily) and every p...
High prices
Multiple reviewers state that the ramen and add-on toppings are overpriced compared to portion sizes.

STUPID EXPENSIVE IN COMPARISON TO TOKYO/OSAKA! It's probably better to save your money and fly to Japan instead of eating here for nostalgia. Plus, there's no self-serve ordering ticket machine here...which is the reason why one even cons...

Enjoyed the ramen and atmosphere, but super overpriced. 2 pieces of pork for a $22 bowl of ramen and the soft boiled egg is $3 to add.
2★ · 2025-08-25
Another tourist trap. $24 for a cup-noodles-size portion is so overpriced. Don't be fooled by a big bowl - what you actually get is some noodles, scallions, and one(!) thin slice of meat. That's it. I wasn't full. That's a rip-off even by M...
Inconvenient egg preparation
Reviewers complain that soft-boiled eggs are served unpeeled in their shells.

The Ramen was very good. The only thing I would say is that. I wish they would peel the boiled eggs for you and put them in the soup. Especially since you’re paying so much. Overall, I really enjoyed the Ramen and I think it was worth the l...

I came back first time in a long time. I wrote a 4 stars review before, but I need to change my rating to 2 starts as I was very disappointed with my latest visit. The order system became new - using touch screen instead of paper. That’s...

Each person will get it's own booth and half boil egg. You have to peel the egg yourself. The place is always busy, long line. Waiting in the line when it is cold in New York can be challenging.
Good for
- Solo dining
- Quick meals
- Introverts seeking minimal interaction
Avoid if
- Dining with a large group who wants to converse easily
- Budget-conscious diners
- Those who dislike waiting in lines

We ordered the Classic Tonkotsu Ramen with medium spice (the recommended) and you definitely have to try it if you're in Koreatown.
